Financial Fundamentals powered by Pathward hosted two financial literacy sessions for high school students.
TEMPE, ARIZ. – April 2, 2026 – Pathward®, N.A. (“Pathward”), a national bank focused on financial access, teamed up with the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation and the Arizona Council on Economic Education to deliver Financial Fundamentals Powered by Pathward to students at McClintock High School in Tempe.
Through two interactive sessions on March 26, the program helped 300 students build practical money management skills while introducing them to the importance of budgeting, saving and making informed financial decisions. The event reflects Pathward’s commitment to expanding financial access and equipping young people with the knowledge and tools they need to start their financial journey with confidence.
“Money management is a critical skill no matter what vocation you choose, so learning about things like opening a bank account, budgeting and saving at a young age can be powerful as young people get their first paid jobs and think about what they want to do after high school,” said Pathward President Anthony Sharett. “Many thanks to Pathward’s employees who volunteered to facilitate a fun learning experience at McClintock High School and to the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation and the Arizona Council on Economic Education for their collaboration to make the event special for the students.”
More than 20 Pathward employee volunteers led engaging station-based budgeting activities, guided students through real-world financial decision-making scenarios, and facilitated a basketball inspired financial trivia activity designed to reinforce key financial concepts in a fun and energetic way.
Students also participated in a panel discussion featuring Pathward leaders, including Sharett, along with other Pathward professionals who shared career insights and discussed building strong financial habits early in life.
In total, Pathward volunteers contributed more than 100 volunteer hours to make the event possible.
Students also received the Financial Fundamentals powered by Pathward workbook, a new educational resource designed to support continued learning beyond the classroom.
In addition to supporting financial literacy initiatives, Pathward partners with the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation to sponsor the Tickets4Kids program, providing 2,000 complimentary game tickets to underserved and at-risk youth during the 2025-26 NBA season and the 2026 WNBA season.
Through partnerships with community organization and employee volunteerism, Pathward continues to advance its mission of powering financial inclusion and expanding access to financial opportunities.
